Police investigate early morning break at waterfront summer home after neighbor sees dark figure…
WEST YARMOUTH – A neighbor’s dog began barking and they looked out to see a dark figure walking between the garage and side entrance to a vacant summer home…
… and responding officers were hoping to catch a burglar in the act.
A short time after 3:00 am, Yarmouth patrol officers arrived in the area of the summer home at 8 Grove Street and began quietly approaching the residence on foot.
The first officers on scene found an open side door and a kicked in garage door… along with an open window…
Officers called for a K-9 and searched the property and nearby beach, but the B&E suspect was long gone.
A member of the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded to gather evidence and take photos.
According to online information, the property, which overlooks Lewis Bay, recently sold this past June for about $1.2 million.
The Yarmouth Police Department is investigating the break…
