PROACTIVE POLICE WORK: Investigators hit streets looking for knife-wielding scumbag who attacked elderly tourists… [HyTown needs your help!]

HYANNIS – Investigators are taking names and looking at possible suspects.
East Main Street, with its heavy foot traffic, is being scoured by a police force on a mission. But the manhunt doesn’t stop there. Hytown doesn’t tolerate violence.
HyTown doesn’t tolerate thugs preying upon our visitors.
And HyTown especially abhors when thugs attack the elderly.
Last night, police moved in and questioned a couple of individuals who, for one reason or another, drew the attention of investigators. Investigators have a description and evidence, most of which HN will not report at
this time due to the ongoing hunt for the loathsome coward who attacked and robbed a senior couple likely more than three times his own age. He thought he picked an easy pair of ‘victims’ to barge in on and terrorize. He was wrong. These brave tourists, the female age 77, the male 78, here visiting from Pennsylvania, stood up to the violent thug who muscled his way across their hotel room threshold, throwing punches, pointing a knife, and obviously hellbent on harming them. They stood up to this coward and resisted. The dastardly invertebrate only managed to scamper away with a pocketbook and 90 measly bucks… the pocketbook was later recovered and returned to the innocent senior citizens.
Only a gutless mouse would do this.
Tonight, police stopped and questioned two individuals, carefully ruling them out as suspects. It was not likely a pleasant experience for the men who were stopped, but they seemed to understand… especially under these circumstances.
HN spoke with one of the men and he ultimately seemed just as outraged about Sunday night’s cowardly robbery as everyone else. Even by HyTown standards, with its problems, trials, and tribulations, it’s unanimous there’s nothing lower than attempting to prey upon innocent tourists old enough to be someone’s grandmother or grandfather.
Only a craven scumbag attacks the elderly.
The back streets off East Main Street are made up of struggling good people, some poor, some trying to start young families, others just looking for a way to improve their lives, all just trying to survive… and then there are those battling addictions and other problems. The decent people in that part of town are tired of the usual mutts and drug-addled bums… and people in that part of town are fighting the temptation to become apathetic to that which seems all too typical. But Sunday night went far beyond “typical” when our community learned there’s now a depraved wild animal out there roaming about… it took things to another level, and it’s troubling, to say the least.
A scumbag coward stalked, invaded a hotel room, and attacked two old people just here visiting us and spending money in our town. It makes everyone sick. Especially the young East Main Street population… To many, this utterly disgusting act crossed a line. A line which divides the rest of us from that which is purely evil.
Police are out there doing their job. It’s now time for the community and those who know our streets to also take a stand.
Anyone with ANY information regarding this cowardly poor excuse for a human being is urged to also take a stand and fight back. Sure, here in HyTown we’re not all perfect, we have our battles and troubles, but attacking the elderly is something we all would agree demands action.
Anyone with ANY information regarding Sunday night’s crime is urged to share what they know with the only people who can take this loathsome barbarian off the streets and put him in a cage where he belongs.

Police are looking for an assailant who is approximately 5 feet and 10 inches tall. He was originally described as possibly being a “light skin” black male, but after gathering more details, the assailant is better described as being a very tan or dark skinned individual. He is said to have a round face. On the night of the robbery he wore jeans and a light-colored tank top. He’s also has been described as being stocky or burly. He has propensity for violence and has no problem violently attacking the seemingly weakest amongst us. He lacks any semblance of basic respect and needs to be taken off our streets as soon as possible. [Please, however, do NOT take matters into your own hands, it’s not worth it… let the cops deal with this filthy piece of HyTown residue.]
And to the two men who were temporarily investigated, thank you for cooperating and helping the police get closer to the truth.
