ROUTE 132 COMMUTER TRAFFIC HALTED… CRASH SENDS BOTH DRIVERS TO CCH… [HN PHOTOS]
A Plymouth & Brockton bus driver waits patiently as first responders work the scene and help the wounded. The P&B bus was NOT involved in the crash.
HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS – [HN PHOTO NOTES] – Barnstable Police and Hyannis Firefighters responded to a two-vehicle crash on Route 132 during this evening’s commute, at around 5:25 p.m. The crash happened near the entrance to Hyannis Toyota. Both drivers were transported to Cape Cod Hospital. One woman was conscious and alert and able to walk toward a Hyannis ambulance. A second woman remained behind the wheel of her vehicle speaking with paramedics. She was placed on a stretcher and transported to CCH in a mutual aid ambulance from the Barnstable FD. None of the injuries were believed to be life-threatening. Southbound commuter traffic was completely shut down while first responders worked the scene. Northbound traffic was slowed to a crawl. The Barnstable Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
