South Orleans two alarm house fire… [VIDEO]
SOUTH ORLEANS – Firefighters responded to a two alarm house fire last evening on Uncle Israel Road at 11:25PM.
The house was heavily involved with flames when the first firefighters arrived on scene. Flames extended to the first and second stories of the home.
The home was said to be unoccupied during the fire. (One radio transmission said the owners were out-of-state…)
On top of the heavy snow and difficult roadways, firefighters had other challenges. According to radio transmissions there was a live wire down at one point. There was also said to be a water main break at one of the nearby hydrants, which forced firefighters to seek other options.
HN arrived on scene shortly after midnight and firefighters were still battling flames, along with very heavy smoke…
