SUSPECT IN MIDDLEBOROUGH ARMED ROBBERY APPREHENDED IN FALMOUTH AFTER BRIEF PURSUIT
MIDDLEBOROUGH [MPD MEDIA STATEMENT] — Chief Joseph Perkins and the Middleborough Police Department want to thank Massachusetts State Police and Falmouth Police for apprehending a man accused of armed robbery on Tuesday.
OWEN LANG, 20, OF KINGSTON, is charged with:
Armed Robbery
Around 5:07 p.m. Tuesday, a man wearing all-black clothing entered the Sunoco Mart at 157 Main St. The man reached over the counter and grabbed money. The store clerk said the man might have had a knife.
After reviewing surveillance video, police put on a be-on-the-lookout alert for a gray Ford Ranger driven by a man wearing all-black clothing, who would later be identified as LANG.
Around 9 p.m., Massachusetts State Police witnessed a Ford Ranger driven by a man matching LANG’s description along Route 25 near Falmouth.
LANG did not stop immediately for police, but he was taken into custody a short time later by Falmouth Police.
LANG may face other charges related to the brief chase. Those would be filed by State Police and/or Falmouth Police.
LANG was brought back to Middleborough and then transported to the Plymouth County House of Correction, where he [awaited] arraignment.
These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
