SWAT SWOOPS IN: Hyannis Bros Lugged for Trafficking Crack, Cops Say
HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS – Detectives and SWAT swarmed a Hyannis apartment complex Monday during an early raid, collaring two brothers after a month-long crack cocaine investigation, according to a Barnstable Police Department media statement.
Around 7 a.m. on October 12, Barnstable Police Investigative Services, the DEA Cape Cod Resident Office, and the Cape Cod Regional SWAT Team hit a residence with a search warrant. The probe by the Barnstable Narcotics Unit had zeroed in on 27-year-old Moises Neto for allegedly dealing crack from the apartment. Inside, officers found about 38.5 grams of crack cocaine, packaging materials, a digital scale, and nearly $3,000 cash.
Twenty-six-year-old Douglas Neto was arrested on the scene. Moises wasn’t there—he was tracked down in a second apartment in the same complex. At the time, he was already wanted on four outstanding Massachusetts warrants plus an extraditable New York warrant.
SWAT locked down the second unit while detectives secured another warrant. Moises was taken into custody without a fight.
Both brothers were booked at Barnstable Police HQ. Each faces trafficking cocaine (36 grams or more but less than 100 grams) and conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substance Act. Moises also got hit with fugitive-from-justice charges on the New York warrant and the four outstanding Massachusetts warrants.
They’re due for arraignment Tuesday, October 13, in Barnstable District Court. The Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office is handling the case. Both men are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
UPDATE – 10/12/26 @ 10:30PM: According to police sources, both suspects are still in Barnstable Police custody.
