VIDEO: The Yankee Doodle Shop Fire…
WEST HARWICH – A fire and thick smoke caused heavy damage to the Yankee Doodle Shop on Route 28 last evening.
At about 7:15pm, police closed down Route 28 for over an hour as firefighters from Harwich, Dennis, and Brewster teamed up to put out the fire and ventilate the building.
According to its website, the Yankee Doodle Shop was founded in 1952. The shop specializes in country accessories, woodenware, glass, and metalware.
An official at the scene reported the shop, which also includes a residence, was built in 1735…
Firefighters did an excellent job saving the building, but the interior and its contents had major damages.
