ABOVE HN PHOTO: Barnstable Police Patrol Officers responded to Barnstable High School last evening after grandparents reported a distressing call from their granddaughter, who claimed individuals at the school threatened to shoot her. Concerned for her safety, the grandparents requested a welfare check. Officers swiftly arrived at the school but could not locate the juvenile female. They expanded their search across Hyannis, and state police were alerted to watch for her vehicle. Later that evening, radio transmissions indicated the granddaughter was found safe at Veterans Beach. Police reassured the grandparents that she was unharmed and returning home. While the credibility of the reported threats remains unclear, the investigation subsided after confirming the juvenile’s safety. Officers focused primarily on her well-being during the search. HN will provide updates if and when more details emerge. The above HN image shows a Barnstable Police cruiser parked near the high school tennis courts during last evening’s search.
