UPDATE FROM THE YPD:
WONG ARRAIGNED AND HELD ON 15K BAIL
David A. Wong age 49 of Tinkham Street in New Bedford was arraigned this morning in the Barnstable District Court and is being held on $15,000.00 Cash Bail. His passport was also seized.
Charges:
1. Secret Video Recording/Electronic Surveillance of Sexual Intimate Parts (Misdemeanor)
2. Secret Video Recording/Electronic Surveillance of Sexual Intimate Parts (Misdemeanor)
3. Secret Video Recording/Electronic Surveillance of Sexual Intimate Parts Victim under 18 Years of Age (Felony)
Investigation is active and ongoing. Anyone who has any additional information about this suspect is asked to contact Yarmouth Police Department Detective Division Commander Michael A. Bryant at 508.775.0445 extension 2122.
YARMOUTH – The following is the actual YPD media statement:
YARMOUTH POLICE TRACK DOWN AND ARREST UPSKIRTER
“Since our original release regarding [Wednesday] morning’s Wanted Wednesday Upskirting Suspect, we received numerous tips that assisted us in identifying the suspect.
An intense investigation was conducted all afternoon and overnight that led to locating the suspect [yesterday] morning at his home in New Bedford.
The suspect was placed under arrest and is currently being held at Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters on $9,840 Cash Bail.
The suspect will be transported to the Barnstable District Court tomorrow morning for arraignment.”
The suspect is David A. Wong, age 49, of Tinkham Street in New Bedford.
Wong works as a self-employed cleaner.

The Yarmouth Police Department commends the public for its outstanding support and Detective Eric Nuss, Dispatcher Maria Curtis, Proactive Anti-Crime Unit Officer Christopher Van Ness, Trooper Mike Turgeon of the MSP VFAS Team, New Bedford PD, and the Barnstable County Sheriff’s who worked diligently and tirelessly together in making this arrest today.
