VIDEO: Emotional moments after three brave employees stand up to a machete wielding robber…
Marstons Mills – Just after 9pm, an armed man stepped through the side door of Pizza 1 & Subs 2… and pointed a machete in the face of an employee.
According to a very concerned boyfriend of one of the employees, there were only three women working at the time of the robbery…
The man waiving the machete got a little too close to one of the women when he said, “give me your [expletive] money!”
This threatening act of aggression only served to rally the other two women to step up and defend their friend… as one of the brave women reportedly grabbed a baseball bat from behind the counter and attempted to give the robber a taste of his own medicine…
The message was a loud and clear… back off or else!
At this point, the robber reached into a cash drawer and grabbed a handful of tens and twenties… hastily making a quick getaway again through the side door from whence he came…
It’s estimated he only made off with about two to three hundred dollars, if that…
The boyfriend, who was nearby and arrived immediately after the robbery, believed the crime was preplanned by someone who knew the store’s routine….
The robber was dressed in black clothing and was wearing a black ski mask at the time of the robbery… He is described as a tall thin white male. He was last seen fleeing on foot toward Bartlett Tree Service next door… It is believed he continued west through a wooded area toward the Osterville Pines Condominiums.
Barnstable Police quickly saturated the immediate area and Officer Troy Perry hit the ground searching with his K-9 partner Izzo…
Despite a fast response, the armed robber had a jump on the police and remains at large this evening… at least for the time being.
