Original story:
Hyannis – At about 8:30pm, police rushed to 65 Oak Neck Road after a boyfriend and girlfriend were attacked by a large man with a history of violence.
The boyfriend’s nose appeared to be broken after his face was bashed with a very large stick.
The enraged attacker also used his hands to beat the girlfriend when she attempted to call police.
The girlfriend was finally able to notify police when the attacker fled the scene on foot. She remained on the line with dispatchers until Barnstable Police Sergeant Ben Baxter and other patrol cars arrived just moments later…
Patrolman Jeff Jackson hit the ground with his K-9 partner Elvis and began tracking the suspect in the direction of Sea Street.
Back at the scene, rescue workers evaluated both victims. The boyfriend was bent over and coughing outside the residence, his nose and face banged up and bleeding. Rescue workers gingerly assisted him into the awaiting ambulance and transported him to Cape Cod Hospital.
The attacker was known by at least one of the victims…
Above photo: A Massachusetts State Trooper also responded to assist in the manhunt. Seen here getting a good look at the suspect’s photo on Sergeant Baxter’s MDT (mobile data terminal)…
Above photo: A police crime scene investigator photographed the weapon, a large solid club-like stick… which was documented and tagged as evidence.
