HYANNIS – [DEVELOPING] At about 4:49PM, Barnstable Police and Hyannis Rescue responded to a single car crash on Ocean Street, where a vehicle hit a pole, then some trees, and finally stopped off the road in some brush.
A young adult female passenger was injured and transported to CCH. Her injuries did not appear life-threatening.
The young adult female driver was arrested for OUI, Operating to Endanger, and for being a minor (not of drinking age) transporting alcohol, according to radio transmissions…
A cooler was collected from the vehicle as evidence.
Amanda Tinheiro, age 19, of Reading MA, was arrested and charged with Operating Under the Influence (Liquor), Operating to Endanger, and Minor in Possession of Alcohol…

HYANNIS – An elderly female driver was transported to CCH with injuries to her face and mouth, after her vehicle collided with another car on North Street this afternoon.
The accident occurred at about 3:00PM, just east of High School Road.
North Street traffic needed to be diverted for a period of time while firefighters cleaned up fluids in the roadway.

WEST YARMOUTH – A bicyclist was taken to CCH after she was involved in a collision with a motor vehicle on Route 28 this afternoon. Her injuries were not life-threatening… but her sternum did impact her bicycle’s handlebars and she was experiencing a little bit of pain while inhaling. Rescue workers reportedly had to overcome a language barrier while treating the patient. The victim only spoke Russian and broken English, according to source…
Traffic was slowed and backed up along that stretch of Route 28 for a period of time…

A Hyannis man was arrested when a plainclothes member of the Barnstable Street Crime Unit observed an alleged hand-to-hand drug deal. The man was charged with selling prescription pills to another in the area of the Hyannis Transportation Center.
