LATEST BARNSTABLE PD MEDIA STATEMENT – 6/10/23: On Saturday June 3, 2023, 19 year-old Kadin Long was arrested on firearm and narcotic charges stemming from a reported disturbance on Barnstable Road in Hyannis [SEE HN VIDEO BELOW]. At approximately 7:40 p.m. Barnstable Police Officers responded to a parking area on Barnstable Road for a report of a large disturbance. Upon arrival, officers observed several known subjects attempting to evade them by hiding behind storage containers. As officers attempted to speak with Long, he began to flee on foot. As he ran, he retrieved a loaded firearm from his waistband and discarded it under a nearby vehicle. After discarding the firearm, Long stopped and was detained by officers. Shortly thereafter, the gun was recovered and Long was taken into custody for Possession of a Loaded Firearm Without a License to Carry, Possession of Ammunition Without an FID card, Possession of a Class B substance (Cocaine) with Intent to Distribute, along with several other charges. Kadin Long was arraigned at Barnstable District Court on Monday June 5, 2023. After arraignment, Long was ordered held on dangerousness.

NEW DETAILS/UPDATED 6/5/2023:

According to Barnstable Police, Kadin Long, 19, of Hyannis was arrested during the disturbance and charged with Carrying a Firearm Without a License, Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm During Commision of a Felony, Possession of Ammunition Without a FID, and Possession of Cocaine With Intent to Distribute. Long was held on $50,000 bail pending his arraignment scheduled for today, Monday, June 5, 2023.
Clyde Perry Jr., 26, of Hyannis was also arrested during this past Saturday evening disturbance inside of a family apartment complex. Perry is being charged with Disorderly Conduct, and Resisting Arrest. Perry was held without the possibility of bail pending his arraignment scheduled for Monday morning, June 5, 2023.

INITIAL HN REPORT & VIDEO:
HYANNIS – [HN NOTES] – As you will see and hear in the following HN Video, earlier this evening, Barnstable Police squad cars responded to the Cromwell Court Apartments for reports of a large fight. The first officers on scene immediately requested more units. All available Barnstable Police units were asked to respond. The BPD also requested mutual aid assistance from the state police and Yarmouth Police Department. As you will hear, officers were able to gain control of the situation and responding units were told they could slow down.
The Hyannis Fire Department responded to help officers gain access to the roof of a nearby business in search of evidence. According to radio transmissions, it sounds like a Yarmouth Police K9 unit also assisted with a search of the area.
HN was notified and arrived on scene near the end of the incident. At least two males were being detained in handcuffs. According to police sources, two arrests were made. One for possession of a firearm. Charges range from firearm to drug charges…
There were no reported injuries. (Thank Heavens!)
