*** WATCH *** STATIES CONDUCT WELL-ORGANIZED SOBRIETY CHECKPOINT IN WEST YARMOUTH… (NOT EVERYONE WAS THRILLED ABOUT IT…)
WEST YARMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS – HN documented a well-organized Massachusetts State Police sobriety checkpoint last evening on Route 28, just over the Yarmouth/Barnstable town line in West Yarmouth, in front of Becker’s Liquors. There were a number of arrests for Operating Under the Influence of Liquor… and at least one arrest for Operating Under the Influence of Drugs. The basic goal of the sobriety checkpoint is to get drivers to think about not driving while impaired… and to think more about the consequences of being caught… or hurting someone in a serious crash… and to hopefully have an impact on the number of deadly drunk driving crashes across the state.
But as you’ll see and hear in the following HN Video, at least one motorist didn’t seem very happy about the overnight operation…
