*** WATCH *** TWO BADLY BANGED UP IN EARLY MORNING HYANNIS CRASH
HYANNIS – As you will see and hear in the following HN Video, at around 4 a.m. this morning, Barnstable Police and Hyannis Firefighters rushed to the roundabout on Bearses Way, in front of the Hyannis Youth Center for a serious crash with injuries. The female passenger was being secured onto a stretcher as HN arrived on scene, she was conscious and alert. The male driver suffered a head injury but was up walking around and speaking with police, he was loaded into a second ambulance. Both patients were rushed to Cape Cod Hospital. The Toyota Highlander was heavily damaged, and the emergency room was placed on a trauma alert. Their injuries were serious but not believed to be life-threatening.
A police source said the driver is looking at citations for motor vehicle offenses but was unable to comment on the type of offenses as the investigation is active and ongoing.
