*** WATCH *** WOMAN WHO TRIED RUNNING FROM TRAFFIC STOP HAD WARRANTS, COPS SAY
HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS – [HN VIDEO NOTES] – The woman who tried to run away from a traffic stop last evening had warrants for her arrest, according to police sources.
Shortly after 10:00 p.m., Patrolwoman Kristina Gustafson radioed that she was conducting a traffic stop on a pickup truck in the area of the West End Rotary. The pickup finally came to a stop to the rear of a business near the intersection of Main Street and Dumont Drive. Officer Gustafson could then be heard notifying dispatch that a woman with possible arrest warrants was suddenly taking off from the traffic stop. Other officers immediately began responding to assist as Officer Gustafson began chasing the woman through the nearby neighborhood, in the direction of Sea Street. A taser was deployed during the pursuit, and the fleeing suspect was taken into custody.
The woman was reportedly wanted on a straight warrant out of Hingham for motor vehicle offenses. She was also said to have a default warrant out of Barnstable for vandalism..
