UPDATE BASED ON POLICE REPORTS – 11/15/2023: There’s apparently much more to the initial story according to the police reports filed in court. The robbery victim, a young adult black male, had allegedly been followed and confronted by the suspect in the Wendy’s drive thru. As you will read in the following Orleans Police reports, the suspect allegedly reached into the victim’s car and open the passenger side door. The incident was being recorded on the victim’s cellphone when he was allegedly pushed and robbed of his cellphone. The suspect’s wife also allegedly confronted the victim, asking, “what are you doing in our neighborhood?” Two witnesses told police they heard the suspect call the victim the “N-word” during the alleged robbery.
HN reached out to both the suspect and his wife on Facebook, saying, “this is Rob with Hyannis News… would you like to make a statement or tell your side of the story about your arrest Saturday evening?” At the time of this report, HN has not received a reply from either the suspect or his wife. HN will update should they reply…
HN has redacted following two Orleans Police reports by Officer John Mellin and Sergeant Hannah Greene. The victim’s name has been replaced with “VICTIM.” The names of both witnesses have been replaced with “WITNESS 1” and “WITNESS 2.”
