WET CRAZY NIGHT: Hit & run with injuries… guns… lightning strikes… large fight… [VIDEOS]
HN NOTE: Everything went nuts the moment the rains came. Thunder and lightning were just the start of things…
… it was totally nuts, and here are the videos to prove it:
VIDEO ONE:
HN was in the area last evening when the skies opened and then suddenly there was report of a man being struck by lightning when he was opening his umbrella.
HN was in the process of doing a live broadcast on Facebook when the call came in. The following video begins with HN dashcam footage, and you’ll hear me speaking live with my audience on the Hyannis News Facebook page.
BUT, according to a fact checker on a news desk I routinely speak with in Boston, the whole drama turned out NOT to be a lightning strike after all…
… but hey, the video is still pretty cool. So, check out the storm!
VIDEO TWO:
Firefighters in Dennis Port responded to an address on Lower County Road after lightning directly struck a home there.
As you will see in the video, the strike did some damage, ripping through shingles and blowing out a window on the side of the dwelling.
The fire department cut power to the house and the family needed to relocate to other accommodations for the remainder of the evening…
VIDEO THREE:
There was said to be a “large fight” outside of a Yarmouth bar early this morning. People were said to be hurt.
Numerous police responded, along with two ambulances.
One man was beaten up pretty bad and needed medical attention.
No other details were available at the time of this report…
VIDEO FOUR:
There was a serious hit and run accident on Race Lane in Marstons Mills early this morning.
A woman in her late twenties was hurt and taken to CCH. She was said to have injuries from glass embedded in the side of her face.
The driver was said to have initially pulled over, only to eventually flee the scene in a vehicle with significant damage.
A Barnstable Patrolman later spotted the hit and run vehicle miles away in Centerville. According to radio transmissions, the vehicle didn’t stop at first… which may have been because of the driver’s state…
A man was arrested for drunk driving and other motor vehicle charges…
Several firearms were also found in the vehicle. The driver was said to be licensed for the weapons, but may be facing additional charges in relation to the firearms…
Developing…. no further details were available at the time of this report.
HN NOTE: Because of time constraints, HN is only able to break the above stories as is… I will try to update if time permits…
