SOUTH YARMOUTH – The Yarmouth Police Department deployed a K9 unit Wednesday morning in hopes of locating an adult male who had just fled a domestic disturbance. He reportedly suffered some type of knife wound and was believed to still have a knife on his person. The male had a significant criminal history and had just recently been released from prison, according to radio traffic. The search was inconclusive while HN was on scene. HYANNIS – Police and firefighters had their hands full earlier in the week after a water main burst underneath Elm Street. Water pressure lifted the pavement and the area was flooded, needing to be shut down to all traffic. HYANNIS – A senior male driver was evaluated by Hyannis Rescue after reportedly driving into the CVS Pharmacy on North Street, Monday evening. A section of exterior brick wall was damaged and needed to be checked out by the building inspector. The driver was not seriously injured and was able to walk on his own. The store’s drive thru window has been closed in recent months. The Barnstable Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash…


[HN PHOTOS] LET ME OUT NOW! Woman suffers minor leg injury after jumping from moving vehicle…
HYANNIS – Police responded to the area of the Super Stop & Shop on Attucks Lane last weekend after a report that a woman had just jumped out of a moving vehicle. Barnstable FD Rescue was called to evaluate the woman for a complaint of a leg injury. The male driver remained on scene and spoke with officers. (He was not charged with anything and was free to drive away.) The female was taken into protective custody and transported back to police headquarters after being evaluated by EMTs.
