Young man seriously hurt in Mashpee motorcycle crash…
MASHPEE – One of the witnesses said he had to lift a small trailer off the motorcyclist who had slid underneath…
At about 7:30pm, police and rescue rushed to a motorcycle accident on Ninigret Ave.
The motorcyclist, a 22-year-old male (according to an unconfirmed radio transmission), was reportedly traveling over a small hill when he suddenly came upon a trailer backing out of a driveway. He was said to have laid his bike down before sliding underneath the trailer.
The motorcyclist was seriously injured according to a fire department source. Medflight was initially considered, but rescue workers transported the patient by ambulance to a South Shore hospital instead.
According to sources, the patient was expected to survive.
One witness said he believed speed was an issue, as he pointed out the marks from the bike sliding along the pavement…
Mashpee police are investigating the accident and have not released the official results of their investigation.
HN NOTE: I arrived at this call right after Mashpee Police had concluded their processing of the scene. The motorcycle and items in the above photo are said to have been just moved after the scene had been officially documented.
