Hyannis Firefighters are inviting everyone to join in and help out with this awesome cause!!!
HYANNIS – Hyannis Firefighters are gearing up to raise funds for Operation Warm.
Hyannis Firefighters have joined forces with national non-profit Operation Warm in a newly launched program, “Firefighters for Operation Warm,” a movement led by firefighters across the U.S. to combat the effects of childhood poverty while saving American jobs.
With your help, Hyannis Firefighters hope to distribute brand new American-made winter coats to every student attending our Hyannis West Elementary School.
Hyannis West has approximately 285 children receiving a free or reduced lunch program, that is almost 85% living at or below poverty level.
Our children and schools will directly benefit from this program by promoting health and wellness, building self-esteem, and showing our children their community cares!
With your support, Hyannis Firefighters are trying to raise enough money to distribute coats to all 375 children attending HyWest.
Hyannis Firefighters are inviting everyone in the community to support this worthy cause in any way possible.
You can help out either through monetary donations, participating in a 50/50 raffle, or by attending a fun event that will be held Friday, November 6th at the Portside Tavern @ 8pm.
The event is $10.00 at the door and will feature a $10,000 50/50 raffle selection, fun games, and live music by The Gimmicks!
The goal is for our firefighters to surprise the students during the winter months with their bright new coats, personally fitting each child, and helping them write their names on an interior tag that reads, “Made Especially for You.”
