Barnstable Detectives round up alleged narcotic dealers in two separate raids… [plus YPD drug busts…]
HYANNIS – According to BPD press release, Barnstable Narcotics Detectives have been conducting a series of undercover purchases of heroin and cocaine over the past two months.
As a result of the purchases, detectives were able to obtain search warrants for apartments at two separate locations in Hyannis. The investigations were not related.
The first search warrant was executed at 35 Louis Street, Apartment B, where detectives arrested Kenneth Debarros, age 45, and Robin Gomes, age 52, after finding about 65 grams of heroin.
Debarros and Gomes were each charged with Trafficking Heroin (36-100 grams).
Debarros has an extensive criminal record, with 40 arraignments, with multiple drug and firearm convictions dating back to 1986.
Gomes also has an extensive criminal record, with 52 arraignments dating back to 1982.
Gomes has been convicted of drug law violations 8 times.
Both Debarros and Gomes were arraigned in Barnstable District Court this morning and held $20,000 bail.
Detectives executed the second warrant at 25 Sea Street, Apartment 1, earlier this afternoon (Wednesday, 4/29). Sergio Saldana, age 22, of Boston and Demetrius Bennett, age 24, of Dorchester were arrested after detectives found quantities of crack cocaine, Oxycodone, and Vicodin.
Saldana and Bennett were both charged with 2 counts of Possession of Class B with Intent to Distribute and 1 count of Possession of Class C with Intent to Distribute (Vicodin).
Bennett was additionally charged with Resisting Arrest after flushing a quantity of cocaine down the toilet and fighting with Detectives.
Saldana and Bennett will be arraigned in Barnstable District Court on 4/30/15.

YPD PRESS STATEMENT: PAC Officer Arrests Three for Heroin
On Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 10:50AM Yarmouth Police Department Patrol Officer Sean Geary while assigned to the Proactive Anti-Crime Unit observed a 2015 Hyundai SE operated by Heather Bingle with two other known subjects inside, travelling in a suspicious manner on South Sea Avenue in West Yarmouth. Patrol Officer Geary further observed a white object be thrown from the vehicle’s front seat passenger window. Officer Geary retrieved the item and inside found several baggies of brown powder believed to be heroin.
Patrol Officer Geary subsequently conducted a motor vehicle stop of the Hyundai further down on South Sea Avenue. Yarmouth Police Department K9 Patrol Officer Michael J Kramer and Nicholas Giammarco arrived as back up as well as Detective Scott Lundegren. The item recovered field tested positive for heroin and all three subjects were placed under arrest and transported to Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters.
After the completion of the booking process, all three were subsequently transported to the Barnstable District Court this afternoon for arraignment.
