UPDATE ~ 5/13 12noon ~ Police have identified the fatal crash victim as Daniel Hawkins, age 52, of Centerville… Hawkins was pronounced dead at Cape Cod Hospital yesterday less than an hour after the accident… Police are still investigating the cause of the crash…
West Barnstable — At about 11:30am, a truck crashed into a tree on the Service Road in the area between exits 4 & 5 next to the Mid Cape Highway…
The driver was unconscious and not breathing when first responders arrived on scene… CPR was performed… victim rushed to CCH in serious condition…
There were no other passengers…
An accident reconstruction expert was called to the scene…
The entire Service Road between Mid Cape Highway exits 4 & 5 was closed down as Police investigated…
