*** WATCH *** AMAZING DRIVE-BY BIRTHDAY IN CENTERVILLE!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASTON!
HN received the following heartfelt email from Marissa Noble, 10-year-old Aston’s mother… in the email she expressed “a bit of shock, sheer amazement” and being “beyond grateful” for the drive-by birthday celebration for her son earlier today:
“Today is our son Aston Noble’s 10th birthday. What a milestone in these crazy times! …”
“I guess to start, Aston was diagnosed with autism at 22 months old. We immediately sought help from our local Early Intervention program. Long story short he did beyond incredible in their program and at age three (literally the day of his birthday) he “aged out” of the program and was placed into the public school system. We wanted to say thank you and the words or a card just wasn’t enough. We started The Aston’s Bloody Mary Mix Off where all proceeds went to the Early Intervention program. Over the 6 years the mix-off was such a success… totaling a donation (in Aston’s name) of over $250,000.00…”
“So basically, every year on Aston’s birthday we would hold another Mix Off instead of a birthday party. Of course we would always have a family gathering, but never a party with friends…”
“This birthday at age 10 was going to be the first birthday party with friends he’s ever had. We all of course know what happened next… party was cancelled…”
“Two days before [his] birthday we were brainstorming ways to help celebrate and I saw a post of people having drive by birthdays. We have been quarantining for over 4 weeks so we were really careful about what we could do…”
“ I, Marissa Noble (his mom) said to David (his Dad) what about hosting a birthday parade. I know we know a lot of people from being in the service industry so I put it out as an event on Facebook, honestly hoping to maybe get 30ish cars lol. Never in my life could I imagine what actually happened. Some wonderful friends all saw the event and started getting signs, truck companies, ambulances, fire trucks, police officers, politicians, business owners, teachers, all together (with the knowledge that if there was a call or an emergency they would have to attend to that… obviously) spear headed by John Bearse…”
“So we didn’t really have any expectation. I knew this had turned into something a little bit more serious when Heather Wilson and Carla Sullivan both messaged me that the cars, trucks, etc. were lining up at a nearby grocery store parking lot (and both were crying), so I started crying before it even started. When the first police car turned the corner we all broke down and it didn’t stop! 10 full minutes of an actual parade all for my well deserving son! This community came out in full force today!”
Here’s also a list of companies that went above and beyond:
Dig- it construction
Barnstable PD
Mashpee PD
Centerville Fire
Hyannis Fire
Coastal Ambulance
Cape Way Towing
Silver Cloud
Kenny Builders
Comm Fire Rescue
Robert B Our
“… I don’t remember the last time I cried this many tears of joy…”
“ Also, just to point out for everyone wondering about our neighborhood. Its a small quiet street with one way in and one way out… so just in case… I did email everyone in our association to warn them of a potential traffic increase and if they heard sirens to not worry! They all responded with emails in favor of the parade. Thank god! haha”
Cheers!
Stay Safe,
Marissa Noble
