Cops restore order…
Hyannis – I went to a brawl and a basketball game broke out…
… or something like that.

Just after 7pm, at least 8 Barnstable Patrol and SCU units rushed to the Barnstable High School gymnasium for a fight amongst spectators that was growing out of control.
First officers on the scene reported things had calmed down…
A witness reported the fight started between a couple of kids but quickly grew as others started to get involved. It had the potential to grow bigger and more out of control.

A Barnstable High administrator attending the contentious boys varsity basketball game against Durfee got on the court PA system and warned spectators “taunting” from the stands would not be tolerated.

Barnstable Police assigned additional officers to the venue for the remainder of the game.

No arrests were made at the time and play continued in what was a very close scoring game…
The Barnstable Red Raiders pulled from behind to win 69 to 66!
