COPS: Suspect punched officer after kicking another man in the head…

HYANNIS – A Barnstable Patrolman was reportedly punched while breaking up a street fight in the area of 586 Main Street this morning.
At about 12:50am, a patrol officer told a suspect he was under arrest after he observed him kicking another man in the head, sources say. The suspect then reportedly punched the officer in the chest prior to running off down the street. Other officers quickly caught up to the suspect and placed him under arrest.
Hyannis Rescue arrived and treated the other combatant for his injuries.
Jeffry Kimball, age 28, of West Yarmouth, was arrested and charged with A&B Dangerous Weapon, A&B on a Police Officer, and Resisting Arrest. Kimball had never been arrested before and was bailed out after the booking process. Kimball is a large man, 6 feet 4 inches tall, and 245 pounds…
The police officer told HN he was not injured and was able to remain on patrol.

HYANNIS – It turned out the door wasn’t exactly “kicked in,” but the Plexiglass was broken in and the innkeeper confronted a man who was sticking his head in through the damaged office door…
At about 2:34am this morning, multiple Barnstable squad cars responded to the Cascade Motor Lodge on Main Street for a breaking and entering which had just occurred.
Barnstable officers quickly set up a tight perimeter and were able to arrest the suspect nearby in the Cascade parking lot…
Robert Jones, age 36, of New Bedford, was arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering in the Nighttime. He was also held in protective custody the remainder of the morning for being highly intoxicated.
