SHOCK: Former Truro Police Chief arrested for driving drunk with child onboard… [VIDEO]
UPDATE 7/3/2014 at 10pm: The Cape Cod Times is reporting that in addition to Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol, Lundborn will also be charged with Child Endangerment while Operating Under the Influence, and Operating a Motor Vehicle with an Open Container. UPDATE 7/3/2014 at 6:30pm: Former Truro Police Chief John Lundborn was arrested again for operating under the influence of liquor. Lundborn’s toddler was in the back seat of the vehicle.
According to Cape Wide News, Lundborn was terminated as Truro Chief after crashing a brand new cruiser while under the influence in Truro in 2011. He was also arrested for OUI in Palm Beach, Florida. in 2013.

HYANNIS – Witnesses called police and reported that a man driving a black Chevy Tahoe was almost crashing into other vehicles while trying to maneuver through the McDonald’s drive-thru on North Street just after 2pm…
Unable to make it through the drive-thru, the man reportedly exited the vehicle and almost fell over several times…
Police responded and stopped the Man as he was seated behind the wheel of the SUV in the parking lot near McDonald’s.
There was nobody else in the vehicle, except the young boy in a car seat… the child appeared to be about 3 to 4-years-old…
Police also discovered an open container of alcohol.
For one reason or another, the man did not do a field sobriety test…
Officers placed John Lundborn, age 46, of Hyannis under arrest for Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol…
Lundborn was transported back to BPD Headquarters for booking and processing…
The child remained with officers at the scene for about 15 minutes… Officers tried to distract the small boy by making funny faces and assuring him all was okay…
The young boy was eventually transported back to BPD Headquarters where he currently remains… No further information was available regarding his situation and what will happen from this point forward… (UPDATE: According police the child was eventually picked up by a family friend)
The incident remains under investigation as police are talking to witnesses and looking at possible McDonald’s video of the incident…
The Chevy Tahoe was apparently a rental vehicle and was towed from the scene. It will very likely be released directly back to the rental company…
