UPDATE – 12/23/25: According to a brief statement from the Yarmouth Police Department, the driver in Sunday’s crash — a local man in his 60s — died from his injuries. The identity of the victim has not been released. No further details were available at the time of this report, other than the crash being “still under investigation.”

Driver Rushed to Cape Cod Hospital After Crash Downs Power Lines in West Yarmouth [DEVELOPING]
WEST YARMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS – [DEVELOPING] – Crash reconstruction experts are investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred around 1:00 p.m. today near the intersection of Taft Road and Wilson Road, where an F-150 pickup truck struck a utility pole and brought down power lines, according to sources.
Approximately 90 residences are currently without power, according to Eversource. Utility crews are on the scene working on repairs. Power is expected to be restored by around 6:00 p.m., according to Eversource. Yarmouth Police officers are diverting traffic to ensure safety during the repairs.
The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was reportedly rushed to Cape Cod Hospital. Details on the driver’s condition have not been officially released.
Members of the regional accident reconstruction unit are actively examining the crash site to determine the cause. The Yarmouth Police Department is leading the investigation.
