Head banging B&E suspect… [Video plus other stories, including shots near community college]
Hyannis – Shortly after 6:30pm Patrolman Downs and Patrolman Donovan of the Barnstable Police responded to the Village Green Apartments at 357 Main Street for a domestic disturbance where things were being broken…
Officers spoke with a female victim and learned her door had been kicked in…
They also encountered the male suspect still on scene…
The suspect was arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering, along with a couple counts of Malicious Destruction of Property (“Over”)…
The suspect was very animated and vocal as he was being escorted out of the building.
The man appeared highly agitated as he began to violently bang his head against the door while seated inside one of the squad cars.
Headquarters was notified that Patrolman Donovan would need extra assistance helping the man into the booking area.

Shots fired in the woods near Cape Cod Community College...
West Barnstable – At approximately 11:30am, Barnstable Police met with college security after a hunter was spotted on, or very near to, school grounds...
A couple State Police units also responded to the Route 6 area where they heard shots being fired and leaves being knocked off trees near Exit 6...
Meanwhile officers began to investigate two pickup trucks parked in lot 7 of the college.
One of the trucks had two dead ducks in the bed. Officers discovered other indicators that the trucks had something to do with the hunter firing in the nearby woods...
Just over an hour later, two students approached officers and informed the trucks belonged to them. That they were indeed hunters, but had been in class all morning long...
Police conducted a search of one of the vehicles but did not find any weapons, just a handful of shotgun ammo...
Police booked the student's information and sent them on their way.
It appears the trucks were unrelated to the hunter in the woods...
The search continued for the active hunter with some officers entering the trail where the hunter was last seen and heard.
Officers in the area also responded to lot 10 after a shattered car window was discovered.
Police checked out the parked vehicle and were confident the shattered window had nothing to do with the nearby gunshots.
All officers eventually cleared the scene unable to make contact with the hunter who was described to be an older man with a beard...
The incident remains under investigation.
In other news:
At around 6:30pm, officers also responded to the Shanghai Restaurant on Ridgewood Ave for at least two reports of a fight in progress.
Most of Barnstable's officers were committed to other disturbances at the time of the call. But dispatch managed to find two free patrol units to cover the call.
The combatants had already left the area by the time officers arrived on scene...

The daughter of the owner of the Loomis Lane address that recently burnt to the ground in Centerville is seeking help for the tenants that were displaced by the fire.

Fund established to aid victims of home fire at Loomis Lane, Centerville.
A fund has been established to assist the tenants of the Loomis Lane, Centerville home that was destroyed by fire last Wednesday night, November 20th. The personal property and possessions of Laura Pipkins and her teenage daughter were completely destroyed in this fire as was the house itself. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Fire Company.
Those interested in donating to this fund should write a check made out to the “Laura Pipkins Fire Fund” and mail it directly to Citizens Bank, 417 Barnstable Road, Hyannis, MA 02601.
Please give generously and help this family out.
