HN FOOTAGE: ABANDONED FARM STRUCTURE BURNS TO THE GROUND, SETTING LARGE BRUSH FIRE FUELED BY STIFF WIND GUSTS…
FORESTDALE – It was a wild fire scene in the Town of Sandwich last evening…
As you will see in the following HN Footage, at about 2:00 a.m. this morning, at a location which was described as an old abandoned farm on Green House Road, first responders reported a structure fully involved and catching onto surrounding brush. The structure burned completely to the ground while stiff wind gusts spread the flames across the landscape.
Brush breakers and tankers were brought in from surrounding towns, and water supply was an ongoing issue as firefighters were still wetting down the scene at 4:45 a.m., the time of this report… [DEVELOPING]
HN NOTE: It’s important to point out that this morning’s fire happened in the the middle of a thickly settled neighborhood. With the steady winds, there was the possibility of this fire spreading, possibly to other structures. It’s a good thing firefighters got to it in time.
