HN PHOTOS: Officers catch up to Hyannis male wanted for firearm related charges…

HYANNIS – Barnstable Police patrol officers responded to a domestic-type disturbance in the area of Quaker Road early this morning, shortly after 1:00 a.m.
The male half of the disturbance had fled the area on foot. Upon further investigation, officers had probable cause for his arrest on some type of domestic related assault charge.
Officers also learned the Hyannis male had an arrest warrant related to an incident that happened back in January of this year. The warrant was for a list of charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm and assault with a dangerous weapon.
According to the alleged victim in this morning’s disturbance, the suspect was not believed to be possession of a firearm this time when he fled the area on foot.
Officers began scouring the surrounding streets and wooded areas, by foot and in cruisers. Their persistence paid off when a Barnstable Police sergeant caught up to the wanted male behind the Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank on Route 28 shortly before 6 a.m. this morning. The male was arrested on the warrant and the additional domestic assault related charge… and is currently in custody at BPD headquarters.
* The initial details contained in the above report are based on police radio transmissions and police sources on scene. The defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

The following is HN video footage of a fire that happened at a Hyannis residence on Tobey Way early Friday morning. The homeowner was able to knock the flames down with a garden hose and Hyannis Firefighters continued to wet down the outer wall in order to stop the fire from extending further into home. Firefighters were still investigating the exact cause of the fire at the time this footage was taken. HN later learned the fire did not appear to be suspicious.

HN NOTES – I listen to a lot of jazz throughout overnight, especially in between calls or when things slow down a little. The music helps me focus and Joey DeFrancesco’s music has always been there at the right times.
Joey suddenly passed away this past Thursday at the age of 51. The jazz stations I listen to have been playing his music 24/7 since the sad, unexpected news.
I took the following photos while in my natural surroundings, parked downtown last evening, listening to Mr. Joey DeFrancesco… nothing special… just the beautiful simplicity of it all.

RIP JOEY!
