HN VIDEO: Bicyclist down, banged up pretty bad…
WEST YARMOUTH – A 26-year-old woman was discovered down in the roadway and banged up pretty bad this afternoon.
At about 5:05PM, Barnstable Police, Yarmouth Police, and Yarmouth Rescue responded to the intersection of Main Street and Route 28, right on the town line, for a report of a bicyclist struck by a motor vehicle. The accident turned out to be on the West Yarmouth side of the town line, so Yarmouth Police took over the investigation.
The young woman was apparently in a lot of pain as first responders did their best to comfort her. And as you will see in the following HN Video, she was secured onto a stretcher and transported to CCH.
According to the preliminary investigation, the bicyclist is not believed to have been struck by a motor vehicle after all… but rather is believed to have fallen off the curb, striking her head on the pavement.
No further information was available at the time of this report.
