RESTAURANT FIRE: Burger King evacuated after building fills with heavy smoke… [HN VIDEO]
HYANNIS – The Burger King restaurant on North Street needed to be evacuated at about 10:00 p.m. last evening. Hyannis Firefighters responded from their station house next door and crews found a heavy smoke condition throughout the kitchen and dining room areas.
A ladder truck was extended above the rooftop as firefighters stretched a hose into the restaurant.
HN observed smoke bellowing from a rooftop ventilation system as firefighters opened windows and doors in an attempt to clear the air.
The fire is believed to have started inside the kitchen area.
