THREE VIDEOS: Several Hyannis drug overdoses within two hours… two on the town green… another in a parking lot… a total of four to CCH…
HYANNIS – Last evening, as is often the case, police and rescue workers were overextended and heavily burdened with overdoses and problems related to drug abuse…
The first video shows police and rescue responding to the Hyannis Village Green for two young women overdosing on some unknown substance.
They were uncooperative with first responders and would not tell them what they had ingested. It appeared to be some type of stimulant, possibly one of the deadly synthetic drugs that are now showing up on our streets.
A good Samaritan noticed the girls on the ground and saw one of them shaking. They were unresponsive at first and very disoriented… that’s when she decided to call for help.
The two young women had lost control of their bodies and were having a tough time walking on their own. One source reports they didn’t even know their names.
The video shows police and rescue patiently trying to help the women. A state trooper was the first officer on scene. He needed to forcefully redirect one of women to a nearby stretcher. It was not open for debate, she needed medical attention and he was concerned for her well-being.
For many addicts, police and rescue workers are the only ones who will step in and do what is necessary to get them help.
