Hyannis – At around 7:45pm, multiple Barnstable squad cars rushed to the area of Forest Glen Road after an officer’s radio transmission was interrupted with him loudly ordering a suspect to “get on the ground!”
Officer Troy Perry, along with his K-9 partner Izzo, had just come into contact with an uncooperative domestic violence suspect and was trying to call in his location when the suspect ran towards a wooded area next to nearby Fawcetts Pond…
Izzo sprung into action and detained the suspect near the pond’s edge, biting him on the arm…
While focusing on having Izzo release the suspect’s arm, Officer Perry’s portable police radio fell into the water at the pond’s edge…
This caused tense moments for backup officers as dispatch unsuccessfully tried several times to get a response from Patrolman Perry, looking for his exact location and status…
Officers saturated the Forest Glen Road area and located Officer Perry and Izzo… they both were fine…
… the suspect, however, was transported to Cape Cod Hospital, treated, and released for wounds that resulted from him not initially complying with Officer Perry.
The suspect is currently in custody at police headquarters…

Witnesses observed the male chase and violently slap the woman on the face.
Police responded and the suspect fled the scene towards the Pitcher’s Way area…
