NEWS BRIEF: Detectives pick off street level drug dealer after witnessing transaction…

HYANNIS – A street level drug dealer had just served someone in front of detectives prior to being boxed in by unmarked police units. One of the detectives was said to have been off-duty when he initiated the investigation.
Patrol officers were called in to assist detectives Sunday afternoon with a female drug dealer they had just arrested with a significant quantity of heroin and crack during a traffic stop at the intersection of Northport Lane and Walton Ave.
The suspect was taken into custody and placed inside a cruiser while detectives searched a vehicle and questioned another female she had been associated with.
Female officers were not available at the time of the arrest and could not assist with searching the suspect. A drug sniffing K-9 was reportedly called in from another town to assist with searching the suspect for additional evidence.
The investigation is ongoing and HN will release further details at they become available.
