PHOTOS: Swimming with the seals… (and sharks…)
TRURO – These photos show seals in very close to swimmers not far north of Nauset Beach in Orleans where a great white shark was spotted just a quarter mile from shore on Saturday…
The swimming area at the end of Coast Guard Road is normally infested with seals this time of year. And where there are seals there tends to be sharks…
According to experts, sharks tend to avoid humans and attacks are rare… shark sightings are nothing to be too concerned about…
But regardless of what the experts say… and according to just about anyone who has ever seen movies such as Jaws, swimming amongst shark prey tends to make some a bit nervous, especially when there are great whites nearby…
