BUSY NIGHT — Dennis Police are investigating two separate rollover crashes that happened in their town within just a few hours of one another.
The first rollover occurred on Scargo Hill Road at about 7:00 PM. The driver was the only person in the vehicle, suffering only minor injures.
According to Dennis Police Sergeant Richard Troy, the male driver was arrested and charged with OUI, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Marked Lanes Violations, and Speeding.
Dennis Police are investigating the crash and no further information was available at the time of this report.

At about 9:52PM, the second rollover accident occurred in the area of 188 Lower County Road in Dennis Port.
According to sources, a 20-year-old male driver was initially trapped inside a Chevy van which had rolled over and came to rest on its side near the Swan River Bridge.
Rescue workers immediately inquired about the available of a Medflight helicopter for serious trauma to the young man’s left hand. Police then secured a makeshift landing zone in the nearby parking lot of the Ezra H. Baker Elementary School.
According to sources, it would have taken about an hour for the next available helicopter to arrive. Rescue workers changed their plans…
The patient was extricated after firefighters sawed through the van’s windshield. The 20-year-old was then rushed to CCH. At the time of this report, the seriously injured patient was scheduled to be airlifted to a Boston area hospital.
A second female passenger was also transported to CCH for non-life-threatening injuries.
Lower County Road was closed down for a period of time.
An investigating officer requested an arrest number, but it remains uncertain what the charges will be, if any…
The crash is being investigated by the Dennis Police and no further information was available at the time of this report.

HYANNIS – Hyannis Firefighters are gearing up to raise funds for Operation Warm.
Hyannis Firefighters have joined forces with national non-profit Operation Warm in a newly launched program, “Firefighters for Operation Warm,” a movement led by firefighters across the U.S. to combat the effects of childhood poverty while saving American jobs.
With your help, Hyannis Firefighters hope to distribute brand new American-made winter coats to every student attending our Hyannis West Elementary School.
Hyannis West has approximately 285 children receiving a free or reduced lunch program, that is almost 85% living at or below poverty level.
Our children and schools will directly benefit from this program by promoting health and wellness, building self-esteem, and showing our children their community cares!
With your support, Hyannis Firefighters are trying to raise enough money to distribute coats to all 375 children attending HyWest.
Hyannis Firefighters are inviting everyone in the community to support this worthy cause in any way possible.
You can help out either through monetary donations, participating in a 50/50 raffle, or by attending a fun event that will be held Friday, November 6th at the Portside Tavern @ 8pm.
The event is $10.00 at the door and will feature a $10,000 50/50 raffle selection, fun games, and live music by The Gimmicks!
The goal is for our firefighters to surprise the students during the winter months with their bright new coats, personally fitting each child, and helping them write their names on an interior tag that reads, “Made Especially for You.”

P.S. – Today’s HyTown Vignette is brought to you by the Grateful Dead… [Crank it… and I beg of you DON’T MURDER ME!!! ] (Lyrics below…)
The Dire Wolf by the Grateful Dead … Lyrics….
In the timbers to Fennario, the wolves are running round
The winter was so hard and cold, froze ten feet ‘neath the ground
Don’t murder me, I beg of you, don’t murder me
Please, don’t murder me
I sat down to my supper, ’twas a bottle of red whisky
I said my prayers and went to bed, that’s the last they saw of me
Don’t murder me, I beg of you, don’t murder me
Please, don’t murder me
When I awoke, the Dire Wolf, six hundred pounds of sin
Was grinning at my window, all I said was come on in
Don’t murder me, I beg of you, don’t murder me
Please, don’t murder me
The Wolf came in, I got my cards, we sat down for a game
I cut my deck to the Queen of Spades, but the cards were all the same
Don’t murder me, I beg of you, don’t murder me
Please, don’t murder me
Don’t murder me
In the backwash of Fennario, the black and bloody mire
The Dire Wolf collects his dues, while the boys sing ’round the fire
Don’t murder me, I beg of you, don’t murder me
Please, don’t murder me
Don’t murder me
I beg of you don’t murder me
Please, don’t murder me
No no no don’t murder me
I beg of you, don’t murder me
Please, don’t murder me
Please, don’t murder me
