SHELTER FROM THE STORM… [HN PHOTO]
HN PHOTO NOTES: Early Thursday morning, as gusty rains pelted downtown Hyannis streets, and amid a busy investigation where a homeless man reported being robbed just several blocks away (CLICK HERE for HN coverage), a number of homeless individuals tried desperately to get some sleep while taking cover inside Main Street doorways. Two blocks south of Main Street, there were tents in the wooded areas behind the St. John Paul II School. Programs that housed the homeless during extreme cold conditions this winter are reportedly coming to an end as “warmer” weather approaches, sources say. All this as Massachusetts struggles to find funds for downtrodden citizens and other causes due to the expensive recent wave of “migrants” under the Governor Healey administration. In fiscal year 2025 alone, Massachusetts has already spent more than half a billion tax dollars on providing shelters for migrants and existing homeless families, according to a recent Boston Herald report.
