*** WATCH *** MALE ARRESTED AFTER ALLEGED BOYFRIEND/ GIRLFRIEND ROAD RAGE DOGFIGHT
HYANNIS – It was described as some kind of back-and-forth road rage dogfight. A police patrolman reportedly saw one vehicle swerve toward another, causing it to leave the roadway. The female’s vehicle reportedly left the roadway and hit some potholes at one point. The alleged car vs. car rolling domestic between a Hyannis man and woman, both said to have been boyfriend and girlfriend prior to this morning’s tiff, was allegedly being acting out in front an unmarked Barnstable police cruiser. Had the alleged vehicular fury been allowed to continue, it very likely could have ended tragically.
In an effort to put an end to the alleged recklessness, the patrolman activated his blue lights near the intersection of Route 28 and Hinckley Road. The female pulled over and was issued a citation for motor vehicle violations. The male driver continued on toward the Airport Rotary. He was eventually stopped several blocks away near the intersection of Barnstable Road and Winter Street.
Eric Randall of Hyannis was arrested during the traffic stop at the intersection of Barnstable and Winter, according to radio transmissions. He is reportedly being charged with Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Speeding, and Marked Lanes violations.
