TONS OF FOOTAGE: Centerville house fire – Another HyTown dragstrip wreck – Two car collision with injuries… [Videos]
EDITOR’S NOTE: Due to unforeseen ongoing technical difficulties that will hopefully come to pass sooner than later, Hyannis News was unable to post the following footage last night. The footage today is presented in raw unpolished form, covering three serious incidents which occurred last night… Thank you for your patience.

Centerville – Multiple fire engines responded to 354 Great Marsh Road late last night for a house fire.

The fire started in the chimney and spread to the house.
Early first responders noticed flames that were quickly contained to heavy smoke.

Great Marsh road was closed down as fire fighters ripped apart walls and the roof to get to the source of the thick smoke…

All occupants of the home made it out safely and there were no reported injuries.

HyTown's last remaining dragstrip, AKA South Street, saw yet another serious accident in just over a week...

These recurring accidents happen because there are no lights or safety measures designed to slow traffic. South Street is notorious for dangerous drivers who habitually speed through school zones and a densely populated family neighborhood... It's a two-lane straight-a-way that has seen its share of fatal and near-fatal crashes...

Its heavy foot traffic, which includes school children, young mothers, and individuals with disabilities are at risk of being hit by reckless lead-footed drivers.

The driver in last night's crash was likely travelling faster than the posted 35mph when he smashed through a telephone pole at the intersection of Pearl Street and South Street... (it's suppose to be 20mph when kids are present...)

When Hyannis News arrived it appeared to be another “fatal...”
Miraculously the driver escaped the wreckage on his own and was out walking around without a scratch.
He was a very lucky young man because he wasn't wearing a seat belt and hit the pole full speed without having time to hit the brakes....
There were no skid marks...
The truck sliced through the pole like butter and came to rest after side-swiping a large tree (a tree that has seen many accidents and if could talk would tell drivers to slow down!)
Power in the neighborhood surrounding the scene needed to be cut while workers replaced the pole and made overhead wires safe once again...
The driver stated he lost control after driving over a manhole cover/ depression...

The driver's speed prior to impact does not appear to have been reasonable nor proper for the densely populated neighborhood...
However, judging by the wreckage, some believe the driver couldn't have been traveling faster than the Guardian Angel that hopped in his truck as he flew past Saint Francis Xavier Church...
… and it's a good thing, he'd be a goner today if it weren't for divine intervention.
