INITIAL HN REPORT:
1. DRIVER ARRESTED FOR DRUNK DRIVING AFTER BRIEF PURSUIT… The following HN Video highlights a scene from the past Saturday evening overnight where a Dodge Charger can be seen speeding through an intersection in Hyannis. 2. HN PHOTO – The driver of a red pickup truck is looking at motor vehicle charges after allegedly leaving the scene of a traffic accident on Gosnold Street in Hyannis on Sunday afternoon. Police needed to scramble to the area and begin searching for the red pickup after the hit-and-run was called in. Officers caught up to the suspect vehicle several blocks away in a parking lot on Ocean Street. There were no reported injuries…

3. HN PHOTO & VIDEO – As of the time of this report, there have been no arrests or breaks in the case involving the Saturday evening gunfire where a vehicle was struck at Craigville Beach. 5. EXTRA HN PHOTOS – First responders did an excellent job in hustling to free a 73-year-old man who was entrapped inside his vehicle after crashing through a length of guardrail and down an embankment into brush and scrub-oaks along a section of Mid-Cape Highway median on Sunday evening… CLICK HERE for HN’s initial report on that single vehicle crash.

6. HN PHOTOS – A young adult male pedestrian was struck on Barnstable Road last evening. A Door Dash driver was just leaving Kentucky Fried Chicken when the pedestrian reportedly unexpectantly entered the roadway, possibly running after some sort of nearby commotion. A police officer noted that area of Barnstable Road is very poorly lit. And it’s also not the first time HN has covered a nighttime car vs. pedestrian accident at that section of roadway. The adult Door Dash driver was extremely upset and worried for the pedestrian… and a police sergeant assured her that it would have likely happened to any driver passing at that particular moment. Officers offered the woman a drive home due to her being so upset. She chose to sit in a nearby parking lot in order to take some time to settle her nerves. The customer who ordered the chicken she was delivering came to the scene to help out by at least completing the transaction. According to a police officer on scene, the food was still hot. Everything had happened so suddenly. As for the pedestrian who was struck, he was banged up, but his injuries were not considered life-threatening. He was transported to CCH. Based on the initial investigation, the driver did not appear to be at fault in this case.

7. HN PHOTO – “THE OUT-OF-TOWNERS” – In a bizarre case, Barnstable Police officers responded to the area of 721 Osterville/West Barnstable Road early this morning after receiving a phone call where nobody was speaking with dispatchers. Dispatchers heard a couple of individuals and believed the vehicle was stopped at the time of the call. Officers found the vehicle (which had a Connecticut registration) stopped in the middle of the roadway. An ambulance was called for a woman with a laceration to her face. A man wearing a Celtics shirt was taken into protective custody for reportedly being very intoxicated. Both individuals appeared to be lost, possibly trying to find the highway… The woman was transported in a COMM FD ambulance, and police had photos taken at Cape Cod Hospital. Photos were also requested at BPD Headquarters. At the time of the following HN photo, police were uncertain what they were actually dealing with, and the investigation was active and ongoing… (no further details available at this time…)
